Apple has advised that in a limited number of older generation 15in MacBook Pro laptops sold between September 2015 and February 2017, that the battery may overheat. As a result of this advice, Product Safety Australia has issued an ‘Electrical Safety Recall’ notice advising owners how to check if their device is affected and what to do if it is. Passengers will find a link to the Recall notice at https://www.productsafety.gov.au/recall/apple-inc-macbook-pro-retina-15-inch-mid-2015-model
Owners of an affected laptop must:
- Turn the device off
- Take it to either an ‘Apple Authorised Service Provider’ or an ‘Apple Retail Store’ where the battery will be replaced
